Can I add DPF fluid manually?

Can a DPF fluid be added manually to each full tank of diesel on my Volvo V50 as my Filter Additive tank is showing a sensor failure and erratic level readings after being (power pack) jump started and had to have the ECU subsequently re-flashed. Which fluid would you recommend if so?

Some versions of the Volvo V50 and S40 fitted with a DPF had an additional tank of Eloys DPF fluid which is mounted above the rear axle, so if this is the case with your car then this needs to be refilled separately and should not be added to the fuel tank. You can do this yourself if you have the facility to jack your car up at home, or an independent Volvo specialist will be able to perform this for you.
